Julia Rose is an artist and mental health professional who combines a creative and analytical lens to reimagine the world through her abstract works.
A School Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor, she is inspired by nature, fashion, mindfulness, and creating paintings with a focus on color, mood, movement, and expression.
Julia Rose focuses on abstract contemporary paintings and mixed media collage. Her favorite materials include acrylics, palette knife, oil pastel, fabric, and paper. She also focuses on making content and teaching wellness practices for creatives. She incorporates the development and promotion of visuals for breathing exercises, guided meditations, chakra work, gratitude journals, mindfulness coloring sheets, and positive affirmations. She has recently facilitated “memoir-themed upcycle workshops” and “self-care for self-starters” discussions.
She received her undergraduate degree in Art Studies at SUNY Purchase, is a member of the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County and works as a School Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor in Bridgeport, CT. She is a resident of the Read’s Artspace artist community in Bridgeport, CT.
Julia Rose’s pieces are in private collections across the country. She has displayed her work in group and solo exhibits throughout Fairfield County. She most recently exhibited and participated in an artist talk at The Inn At Waveny, in New Canaan, CT. She currently has displayed paintings in the “Small Works” exhibit at The Kennedy Collective MDAC Gallery, the “OUTwork Exhibit” at City Lights Gallery, and the “Igniting Your Creative Spark” Exhibit at the NEST in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
