My wellness techniques for creatives incorporates the development and promotion of visuals for breathing exercises, guided meditations, chakra work, gratitude journals, mindfulness coloring sheets, and positive affirmations.
I know what you’re thinking, “I don’t have time for this. I have to get these reels up for the launch today.” Or, “I have to get these canvases shipped before the post office closes.” Or, “my hands are covered in paint and I’m not even sure how I feel about this piece.”
But these reasons, and many more, are precisely why I have decided to focus on creative wellness. As a visual artist and licensed professional counselor I recognize that the process we go through as artists/makers/designers is unique. Creating work, developing artistic identity, networking, and critiques are all significant aspects that come with this role. This page isn’t filled with tips to accomplish these tasks, but about how to cope with them.
I’m excited to share reflections, journal prompts, and suggested activities for you to focus on the amazing artist you are and to feel good doing it.
